5 Ways to Work with Me
Creating timeless imagery for brands, families, horses, and the places we love.
When people ask me what I photograph, I sometimes find it difficult to answer with just one thing.
The truth is, I’ve always been drawn to stories. The story behind a brand, the bond between horse and rider, the feeling of a family in a certain season of life, or the quiet details that make a place feel like home.
While my subjects vary, my approach remains the same: creating timeless imagery that feels authentic and elevated, and connected to the people and places behind it.
Over the years, my work has naturally grown into five different areas that I love most and in case you have a project, here are just a few ways we can work together! Have another project in mind that isn’t quite fitting into any of these descriptions? Please reach out, I’d love to hear about it and find a way to work together!
1. Brand + Editorial Storytelling
For founders, creatives, hospitality brands, equestrian businesses, and lifestyle companies.
The strongest brands are built on more than what they sell. They are built on the story.
I work with businesses to create imagery that captures the story behind the brand: the people, the process, the details, and the moments that make it unique.
Brand sessions can include:
Founder portraits
Lifestyle imagery
Product photography
Website and marketing content
Editorial campaigns
Behind-the-scenes storytelling
Whether you are launching something new, refreshing your website, or looking to create a more cohesive visual identity, my goal is to create images that feel authentic to your brand and resonate with your audience.

2. Equestrian Portraits + Lifestyle
Horses have been part of my story for as long as I can remember.
There is something incredibly special about photographing the relationship between horse and rider. The bond is something that is difficult to put into words, but always comes through visually.
My equestrian work focuses on capturing not just the horse and rider, but the lifestyle surrounding them.
Sessions may include:
Horse and rider portraits
Farm lifestyle imagery
Editorial equestrian sessions
Competition and training moments

3. Family + Milestone Portraits
Some photographs become more meaningful with time.
Family photography is about preserving a season of life exactly as it is. The little details and the moments you may not realize you’ll want to remember years from now.
I photograph:
Newborns and growing families
Maternity sessions
Holiday portraits
Engagements and anniversaries
Multi-generational gatherings and celebrations
Intimate weddings
My approach is relaxed and natural. I want your photographs to feel like you: not overly posed or perfect, but full of connection and emotion.

4. Fine Art + Custom Commissions
Alongside my client work, I create fine art photography inspired by the places, landscapes, and moments that have inspired me.
My collections explore themes of:
Conservation and our natural world
Equestrian life
Virginia Hunt Country
Coastal landscapes
Travel
Collectors can purchase existing artwork or commission a custom piece created specifically for their home, office, or hospitality space. Shop original fine art photography at www.carolinejeangray.com or at Castle Gallery in Middleburg!
I am proud to partner with and support the Piedmont Environmental Council, Saving Gracie Equine Healing Foundation and the Nantucket Conservation Foundation through the sales of my artwork.

5. Interiors + Spaces
I love photographing interiors because, much like people, homes reveal themselves through the details. Noticing and capturing the character of the space that may otherwise go unnoticed is truly special to me.
I work with:
Interior designers
Boutique hotels
Historic properties
Restaurants and hospitality spaces
Private homeowners
My approach is editorial and intentional, focusing not only on how a space looks, but how it feels.
The goal is to capture the character and atmosphere that make a place memorable.
A Final Note
The common thread through all of my work is storytelling.
Whether I am photographing a family welcoming a new baby, a rider and her horse, a founder building something meaningful, or a landscape that feels timeless, I am always searching for the same thing: the moment in time that deserve to be remembered.
If you’re interested in working together, I would love to hear more about your story. Send me a message to start the process!
